The Excelsior American Legion baseball team defeated Wayzata 3-1 in a Sub-State 4 playoff game.
Excelsior scored a run in third inning and two runs in the fifth.
Brennan Albert drove in Wayzata’s lone run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. Pitchers Michael and Will Sturek combined to limited limit Post 118 to the one run.
Post 118 was eliminated by Hopkins early Friday afternoon.
The double elimination tournament continues through at least Saturday at Keller Field in St. Louis Park.
